1/31/2020 Game Night

Why yes, it is weekend game night again. Welcome to our adventure. There was a special Magic the Gathering pre-release, so our evening began with the boys open packs from that and then a round of Commander while dinner was still in the oven. I’m sure at some point, I’ll convince the boys to give more information on Magic, but I am not the one to write on that topic. We then pulled out The King is Dead and did some recording.

The King is Dead

That’s right, this game that first appeared last weekend was back on the table this week. For our review of this game check out the previous blog post for The King Is Dead. We played a quick round of it using the base cards where everyone begins with the same 8 cards and we played the next level where 3 of your cards (the 3 that add 2 followers to a territory adjacent to a scored/controlled territory) get removed from your hand and 3 random cards get added. These cards are all different and add another element to this game.

In both rounds, we had ties and had to go through the tie-break rules. One was Danny and I and the second was Franny and I in the tie.

Podcast

I will add a separate blog post specifically with some supporting information about this podcast episode around the time that we get it loaded and posted and whatnot, but because there was a wrestling event on, we opted to attempt to record while the boys watched the wrestling event. As a result, it is likely that this episode will feel a little bit disjointed, but stay tuned and know that we recorded and it is coming up as soon as we get it formatted and ready to launch.
